From Quasi-Planar B56 to Penta-Ring Tubular Ca©B56: Prediction of Metal-Stabilized Ca©B56 as the Embryo of Metal-Doped Boron α-Nanotubes

چکیده
Motifs of planar metalloborophenes, cage-like metalloborospherenes, and metal-centered double-ring tubular boron species have been reported. Based on extensive first-principles theory calculations, we present herein the possibility of doping the quasi-planar C2v B56 (A-1) with an alkaline-earth metal to produce the penta-ring tubular Ca©B56 (B-1) which is the most stable isomer of the system obtained and can be viewed as the embryo of metal-doped (4,0) boron α-nanotube Ca©BNT(4,0) (C-1). Ca©BNT(4,0) (C-1) can be constructed by rolling up the most stable boron α-sheet and is predicted to be metallic in nature. Detailed bonding analyses show that the highly stable planar C2v B56 (A-1) is the boron analog of circumbiphenyl (C38H16) in π-bonding, while the 3D aromatic C4v Ca©B56 (B-1) possesses a perfect delocalized π system over the σ-skeleton on the tube surface. The IR and Raman spectra of C4v Ca©B56 (B-1) and photoelectron spectrum of its monoanion C4v Ca

A Nonsynonymous/Synonymous Substitution Analysis of the B56 Gene Family Aids in Understanding B56 Isoform Diversity
Gene duplication leads to the formation of gene families, wherein purifying or neutral selection maintains the original gene function, while diversifying selection confers new functions onto duplicated genes. The B56 gene family is highly conserved; it is encoded by one gene in protists and fungi, and five genes in vertebrates. B56 regulates protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A), an abundant heterotrim...
متن کاملEvolutionary Analysis of the B56 Gene Family of PP2A Regulatory Subunits
Protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) is an abundant serine/threonine phosphatase that functions as a tumor suppressor in numerous cell-cell signaling pathways, including Wnt, myc, and ras. The B56 subunit of PP2A regulates its activity, and is encoded by five genes in humans. B56 proteins share a central core domain, but have divergent amino- and carboxy-termini, which are thought to provide isoform s...
متن کاملBUBR1 recruits PP2A via the B56 family of targeting subunits to promote chromosome congression
BUBR1 is a mitotic phosphoprotein essential for the maintenance of chromosome stability by promoting chromosome congression and proper kinetochore-microtubule (K-fiber) attachment, but the underlying mechanism(s) has remained elusive. Here we identify BUBR1 as a binding partner of the B56 family of Protein Phosphatase 2A regulatory subunits. The interaction between BUBR1 and the B56 family is r...
متن کاملA functional genomics analysis of the B56 isoforms of Drosophila protein phosphatase 2A.
Members of the B56 family of protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) regulatory subunits play crucial roles in Drosophila cell survival. Distinct functions of two B56 subunits were investigated using a combination of RNA interference, DNA microarrays, and proteomics. RNA interference-mediated knockdown of the B56-1 subunit (PP2A-B') but not the catalytic (mts) or B56-2 subunit (wdb) of PP2A resulted in i...
متن کاملDirect binding between BubR1 and B56-PP2A phosphatase complexes regulate mitotic progression.
BubR1 is a central component of the spindle assembly checkpoint that inhibits progression into anaphase in response to improper kinetochore-microtubule interactions. In addition, BubR1 also helps stabilize kinetochore-microtubule interactions by counteracting the Aurora B kinase but the mechanism behind this is not clear. Here we show that BubR1 directly binds to the B56 family of protein phosp...
